This is a list of some phrases in Irish.  Admittedly, many Irish will not remember them from their schooling, since English is so commonly used, but it is a nice thing to have in your back pocket to impress the locals with your attention to their culture.

MEANING: How are you?

MEANING: An open mouth often catches a closed fist!

MEANING: May we be alive this time next year!

MEANING: A hundred thousand welcomes!

MEANING: Good Health!

MEANING: Goodbye and blessings on you

MEANING: I am very drunk

PHRASE: Cruinniu ar Athlo!
PRONOUNCED: krin/u air ott/low
MEANING: Meeting adjourned!

PHRASE: Go raibh míle maith agat!
PRONOUNCED: Guh ruh meal/ah mawt ag/gut
